The Broadway-bound musical adaptation of Matilda scored big at the 2012 Olivier Awards, taking home seven trophies including Best New Musical. The number set a new record for most awards won by a single production in the awards ceremony's history. The young actresses who play the musical's title role collectively took home the prize for Best Actress in a Musical, with 10-year-old Eleanor Worthington-Cox becoming the youngest actress to ever receive the award. Oliver Awards, which honor the best in London's West End theater, were also bestowed upon Collaborators for Best New Play as well as Sheridan Smith, Jonny Lee Miller and more. The ceremony was held April 15 at London's Royal Opera House. Sweeney Todd stars Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton served as hosts, with the ceremony featuring a tribute to lyricist Tim Rice.
