Trudie Styler will star with her daughter Mickey Sumner in a master class of Thomas Kilroy’s adaptation of Chekhov’s The Seagull at Culture Project. Audience members will observe the rehearsal process of director Max Stafford-Clark. In addition to Styler and Sumner, the cast includes Stafford-Clark’s wife Stella Feehily and a cast of Irish and Irish-American actors. The master class will run from April 23 through May 11.
Anton Chekhov’s original 1895 play-within-a-play The Seagull is the story of life in rural Russia during the 19th century. Thomas Kilroy’s adaptation of The Seagull sets the play in Ireland. Following the performance, Stafford-Clark will hold a question and answer session with the audience.
