Thomas Sadoski will return to Jon Robin Baitz’s Other Desert Cities on May 8. Sadoski will re-assume the role of Trip Wyeth, which he originated both off-Broadway and for the show's current Broadway transfer. Directed by Joe Mantello, Other Desert Cities is currently running at the Booth Theatre.
Sadoski joins a cast that includes his Lincoln Center co-stars Stockard Channing, Elizabeth Marvel and Stacy Keach as well as Judith Light, who originated the role of Silda on Broadway. Sadoski takes over the role from Matthew Risch, who was Sadoski’s understudy when the production opened in the fall. Risch will play his final performance on May 6.
In Other Desert Cities, once-promising novelist Brooke Wyeth (Marvel) returns home after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents (Channing and Keach), brother (Sadoski) and aunt (Light). When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family’s history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil.
Sadoski received a Tony nomination for Neil LaBute’s Reasons to be Pretty and has appeared on Broadway in The House of Blue Leaves and Reckless. His off-Broadway credits include Becky Shaw, All This Intimacy, The Mistakes Madeline Made, Jump/Cut, Where We’re Born, The General from America and Gemini. He recently filmed Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO series The Newsroom, which premieres in June.
