To Athens! An Enchanting First Look at A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Starring Bebe Neuwirth & Christina Ricci

Lovers and fairies are skipping across the off-Broadway landscape in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Classic Stage Company. The colorful production stars Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth as Hippolyta/fairy queen Titania and Christina Ricci as besotted lover Hermia. Director Tony Speciale helms this comic romp of interlocking stories, set as the wedding day of Theseus, Duke of Athens and Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, approaches. Four young Athenian lovers steal away into the forest while six amateur actors prepare a play for the upcoming nuptials, and both stumble into the realm of the fairies.
