Helmed by Oscar-winning director William Friedkin (who also directed the big screen adaptation of Letts’ Bug), Killer Joe is the chilling story of Chris Smith (Emilie Hirsch), a man so desperately in debt, he hires Killer Joe (McConaughey) to murder his addict mother to collect her health insurance money. When Chris can’t pay for the services upfront, Killer Joe agrees to accept another form of payment: Chris’ little sister. Killer Joe is set to hit movie theaters on July 27.
