Rock of Ages Movie, Starring Tom Cruise, Set to Play Imax Screens

The forthcoming movie adaptation of Rock of Ages will hit IMAX screens on June 15. Warner Brothers will release a digitally-remastered version the film the same day of its wide release, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Adam Shankman, the film adaptation stars Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, Julianne Hough as Sherrie, Diego Boneta as Drew, Alec Baldwin as Dennis Dupree, Paul Giamatti as Paul Gill, Russell Brand as Lonnie, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Patricia Whitmore and Mary J. Blige as Justice Charlier.

Based on the hit ‘80s jukebox musical, Rock of Ages is the story of Drew (Boneta), a small-town boy who moves to Los Angeles to fulfill his rock star dreams. Rock of Ages originally opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 7, 2009. The musical currently plays at the Helen Hayes Theatre, starring Justin Matthew Sargent and Ashley Spencer.
