Jack Kelly who? On May 13 Jeremy Jordan was the real "King of New York" as the Newsies star picked up two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, including Favorite Actor in a Musical. Broadway.com caught up with the leading man at the ceremony's after-party to find out how he was feeling on his big night.
“It's pretty cool,” Jordan said of his dual win (he also won the Favorite Pair award alongside co-star Kara Lindsay). “It’s so strange, you don’t generally get a chance to win more than one award at an awards show, so I am pretty over the moon right now. I wouldn’t miss this. [Newsies] got the most love!”
The night was made even more special for Jordan as his Bonnie & Clyde co-star Laura Osnes scooped up the award for Favorite Actress in a Musical. “It’s pretty crazy [that she won],” Jordan said. “She’s my other leading lady from this season. It’s just wonderful to see everybody that I love getting all this love and respect from the audience.”
So which leading lady would Jordan choose if he could only permanently share the stage with one of them? “I would take half of one and half of the other and just make a super scene partner, ” Jordan said diplomatically. Smart choice, Jeremy!
