Glam was the name of the game at the 2012 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, and Broadway’s fave leading ladies pulled out all the fashion stops on the big night. Bright whites, brilliant fuchsias and miles and miles of leg were among the trends, and while absolutely everyone looked fabulous, we couldn’t help but pick out a few favorites!
1. Caissie Levy
Ghost star Caissie Levy ditched her character’s famous overalls, walking the red carpet in this stunner of a strapless minidress by Mason. Boning in the bodice makes this sassy number fit like a glove and keeps the sweetheart neckline from feeling too, well, sweet. Simple hoop earrings keep the focus on the dress, while sky-high nude heels from Prada ramp up the sex appeal. All in all: a total Broadway knockout.
2. Tracie Bennett
Her End of the Rainbow alter ego, Judy Garland, may have thrilled to the glitz of a bejeweled pantsuit, but three-time nominee Tracie Bennett was turning heads in this flaming hot pink dress by David Meister. Bennett’s one-shoulder silhouette is tres chic, a sheer lace overlay amps up the star wattage, and strappy nude heels (highlighting a pink pedicure) wisely don’t compete with this gorgeous statement dress.
3. Daphne Rubin-Vega
In one of the evening's few floor-length ensembles, Daphne Rubin-Vega served up full-scale drama. The Streetcar Named Desire star’s shimmering Calvin Klein skirt is paired with a fitted matte bodice, and the square neckline trimmed with beading plunges juuuust enough to keep this otherwise subdued set from feeling staid. Alaia heels, a cascade of curls and some touches of serious Roberto Coin bling put this actress’s star quality on full display.
4. Judith Light
A commanding presence onstage, Tony-nominated Other Desert Cities star Judith Light demands as much attention at events with her always fabulous fashion choices. She showed off her penchant for clean, crisp style in this white suit by Escada. The single jeweled button adds extra femininity to the menswear-inspired style, which she sets off with simple black accessories. And that single pop of color from her tangerine nails? Love it.
5. Celia Keenan-Bolger
The fuchsia trend continued with Celia Keenan-Bolger’s short, sweet number from J. Crew. Detailing near the hips adds a fun variation to the traditional strapless silhouette. The Tony-nominated Peter and the Starcatcher star kept things super simple with a few black accessories, black eyeliner to make those baby blues pop, and a whole lot of décolletage. A+!
