Chloe Sevigny is set to star in Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's previously announced play Abigail/1702 as part of the 2012 season of New York Stage and Film at Vassar College. Directed by David Esbjornson, the production begins performances at the Powerhouse Theatre on June 27. The limited engagement ends on July 8. No further casting has been announced.
The story of Abigail/1702 begins ten years after the events of The Crucible as Abigail Williams is living under a new identity in Boston and haunted by her past. When a mysterious figure appears, she confronts Salem’s dark history head on and must atone for her role in it.
Best known for her five season run on the HBO series Big Love, Sevigny made her film debut in the controversial and critically acclaimed 1995 film Kids and followed with notable turns in Boys Don’t Cry and American Psycho.
