The drama critics of New York have been working around the clock to keep up with all the fantastic new shows on offer this year. After many nights at the theater and many heated debates among this 26-member group, these critics have selected the recipients of the 77th annual New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, which were presented May 14 at Angus McIndoe. As previously announced, the 26-member group honored Stephen Karam’s Sons of the Prophet as Best Play, Nina Raine’s Tribes as Best Foreign Play and Once as Best Musical. Special awards were presented to off-Broadway’s Signature Theatre Company and Death of a Salesman director Mike Nichols, for his contribution to the theater.
