Broadway vets Felicia Finley, Aaron Lazar, Daniel Cooney, Graham Rowat and more are set to star in Broadway's Mamma Mia!. The new cast members will join previously announced star Judy McLane in the hit ABBA tuner at the Winter Garden Theatre. Beginning June 4, the production will star McLane as Donna Sheridan, Finley as Tanya, Lauren Cohn as Rosie, Lazar as Sam Carmichael, Rowat as Harry Bright, Cooney as Bill Austin, Zak Resnick as Sky and Christy Altomare as Sophie Sheridan.
Finley has appeared on Broadway in The Wedding Singer, Aida, The Life and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. Lazar’s Broadway credits include The Phantom of the Opera, Oklahoma!, The Light in the Piazza, Les Miserables, A Tale of Two Cities and A Little Night Music. Cooney has appeared on Broadway in Bonnie and Clyde, Les Miserables and 9 to 5. Rowat’s Broadway credits include Guys and Dolls, Lovemusik, Dracula, the Musical and Beauty and the Beast. Christy Altomare makes her Broadway debut in Mamma Mia!, and has appeared on tour in Spring Awakening and off-Broadway in Carrie. Resnick makes his Broadway debut, and has appeared off-Broadway in Disaster and Lucky Guy. Cohn also makes her Broadway debut.
Featuring a book by Catherine Johnson, Mamma Mia! is the story of Sophie (Altomare), who invites three men she believes could be her father to her wedding, unbeknownst to her mother Donna (McLane). Mamma Mia! opened on October 18, 2001, and features hit ABBA songs including “Dancing Queen” and “S.O.S.” Mamma Mia! currently stars Lisa Brescia as Donna, Liana Hunt as Sophie, Stacia Fernandez as Tanya, Jennifer Perry as Rosie, John Hemphill as Sam, Patrick Boll as Bill, David Beach as Harry and Corey Greenan as Sky.
