Amy Herzog’s acclaimed off-Broadway play 4000 Miles will extend its run for a second time and now play the Mitzi E. NewHouse Theater through July 1. Directed by Daniel Aukin, the Lincoln Center Theater production stars Mary Louise Wilson, Gabriel Ebert, Greta Lee and Zoë Winters.
4000 Miles tells the story of 21-year-old Leo (Ebert) who loses his best friend during a cross-country bike trip. Leo then seeks solace from his feisty, Communist grandmother (Wilson) in her West Village apartment.
The drama premiered on June 20, 2011, as part of Lincoln Center’s LCT3 development program. The show then moved to Lincoln Center’s off-Broadway Newhouse Theater, where it officially opened on April 2. The limited engagement was originally scheduled to conclude May 20.
