Six-time Tony nominee David Yazbek will return to Joe’s Pub on May 30 for a concert in support of his brand new album Evil Monkey Man. The album marks Yazbeks’s fifth independent release.
Yazbek received Tony nominations for his work on The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and most recently for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. The composer/lyricist released his first album, The Laughing Man, in 1996 and followed with Tock, Damascus and Tape Recorder: Collected Works.
Joe’s Pub is a popular venue among the Broadway crowd and has seen recent performances from Rachel Potter (Evita), Gavin Creel (Hair), Benjamin Walker (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Julia Murney (Wicked), Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Jessie Mueller (On a Clear Day You Can See Forever), Telly Leung and Lindsay Mendez (Godspell), Justin Vivian Bond (Kiki & Herb: Alive on Broadway), Cady Huffman (The Producers), Betsy Wolfe (Merrily We Roll Along), Dee Hoty (Bye Bye Birdie) and Emma Hunton (Rent).
