Broadway had a lunch date on May 18, when starry guests from the Great White Way headed to the 78th annual Drama League Awards at the Mariott Marquis Times Square, hosted by John Larroquette and Stockard Channing. More than 50 of the season’s finest actors received nominations for the Drama League Distinguished Performance Award, with Porgy and Bess star Audra McDonald ultimately taking home the prize. Other Desert Cities and Once received awards for outstanding play and musical, while Follies and Death of a Salesman received awards for Distinguished Revivals.
