Tony winner Cady Huffman has signed on to play Ms. Pratt, Clarissa and Mrs. Bamberg in Prospect Theater Company’s upcoming production of Cole Porter’s Nymph Errant. The show is directed by Will Pomerantz and features the original 1933 Porter score and a revised book by Rob Urbinati. Performances of the production, based on the novel by James Laver and the original libretto by Romney Brent, begin July 7 at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row.
Joining Huffman are Jennifer Blood (Drury Lane’s The Sound of Music) as Evangeline Edwards, Sara Jayne Blackmore (White Noise, Growing Up 70s) as Henrietta, Laura Cook (Fiddler on the Roof national tour) as Joyce, Amy Jo Jackson (The Great Recession) as Bertha and Aubrey Sinn (Prospect Theater Company’s Iron Curtain) as Madeline. The cast of Nymh Errant also features Andrew Brewer, Natalie E. Carter, Sorab Wadia and Abe Goldfarb.
Nymph Errant follows the unlikely adventures of the young Evangeline Edwards as she enters the world and seeks her true passion, landing herself in variety of locations including a Swiss boarding school, an Austrian nudist colony and a Turkish harem.
Huffman won a Tony for her performance as Ulla in The Producers and was nominated for a Tony for The Will Rogers Follies. Her other Broadway credits include La Cage aux Folles, Big Deal and Dame Edna: The Royal Tour. She is a regular on TV's Iron Chef America and has appeared on The Good Wife and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The creative team for Nymph Errant includes musical direction by James Bassi, set design by Brian Prather, lighting design by Cory Pattak, sound design by Andy Leviss, costume design by Whitney Locher and casting by Jason Najjoum.
