On May 24, Tony winner Harvey Fierstein hosted a birthday party for a very special lady—the Helen Hayes Theatre! The theater, known originally as the Little Theatre, officially opened on March 12, 1912 with The Pigeon by John Galsworthy. After stints as the New York Times Hall and the Winthrop Ames Theatre, the 44th Street space was named after EGOT-winning actress Helen Hayes in 1983. In 2012, the Helen Hayes Theatre is home to the ‘80s jukebox musical Rock of Ages.
