Phantom of the Opera Sequel Love Never Dies Released on DVD and Blu-Ray

A film version of the Australian production of Love Never Dies, the sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s megahit The Phantom of the Opera, will be released in the U.S. on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 29. The DVD, starring Ben Lewis as the Phantom and Anna O’Byrne as Christine, was filmed in Melbourne on September 2011. Love Never Dies was screened in U.S. movie theaters on February 28, March 7 and May 23.

Love Never Dies follows the Phantom to Coney Island, New York, where he begins a new life among the side shows, but still pines over Christine. When the Phantom lures Christine and her family across the world, their love story continues. The production features music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, a book by Lloyd Webber, Slater and Ben Elton, and additional lyrics by Charles Hart.

Lewis has appeared in the original Australian casts of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Spamalot and has appeared in A Little Night Music, Urinetown and The Odyssey. O’Byrne previously played Christine in an Australian touring production of The Phantom of the Opera and has appeared in The Threepenny Opera. Both Lewis and O’Byrne appeared in the original Australian cast of Love Never Dies.
