Once and Tribes took home top honors at the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards on June 3. Brian d'Arcy James and Brooke Shields served as hosts of the ceremony at Town Hall. Performers honored at the ceremony included James Corden, Tracie Bennett, Audra McDonald and Danny Burstein. As previously announced special awards were presented to Mary Testa (Queen of the Mist), Nick Westrate (Unnatural Acts, Galileo, Love's Labor's Lost) and New Victory Theatre. Sons of the Prophet playwright Stephen Karam received the newly created Sam Norkin Off-Broadway Award and the cast of Sweet and Sad (Jon DeVries, Shuler Hensley, Maryann Plunkett, Laila Robins, Jay O. Sanders and J. Smith-Cameron) earned the Outstanding Ensemble Performance Award. A full list of winners is below.
