NBC has announced premiere dates for fall comedies Go On, The New Normal and Animal Practice, according to Deadline.com. Go On, which stars Tony winners Laura Benanti and Julie White, will air a special preview on August 8. The series will then resume its regular run on September 11. Animal Practice, led by Other Desert Cities alum Justin Kirk, also airs a special preview on August 12, before returning on September 26. The New Normal, starring Andrew Rannells and Tony winner Ellen Barkin, will premiere on September 11.
Go On follows Ryan (Matthew Perry), an irreverent yet charming sportscaster who, trying to move on from a loss, finds surprising solace in the members of his mandatory support group. Anne (White), a feisty but grieving widow, searches for peace alongside Ryan. Lauren (Benanti), the leader of the Transitions support group, is wound tightly but manages to keep her cool, at least most of the time.
Animal Practice stars Kirk as a veterinarian who loves animals, but usually hates their owners (especially the new woman who runs the clinic).
The New Normal is a comedy about a blended family of a gay couple (The Book of Mormon Tony nominee Rannells and Lend Me a Tenor’s Justin Bartha) and the woman (Georgia King) who becomes a surrogate to help them start a family. Barkin will play King’s “old-fashioned” grandmother.
