Viva Forever!, the previously announced Spice Girls jukebox musical, will begin previews on November 27 at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre, with an official opening night set for December 11. Featuring songs by the Spice Girls and a book by Jennifer Saunders, the musical will be helmed by Paul Garrington. No casting has been announced.
Set in London and Spain, Viva Forever! is the story of a beautiful, talented girl who gets caught up in the obsession of celebrity TV culture. The girl follows her dream and is swept into a world of overnight fame. As she discovers the impact it has on her relationships with her mother and friends, the girl must fight to become who she really wants to be. The musical will feature 16 songs from the ’90s girl group, including “Say You’ll Be There,” “Wannabe” and “The Lady Is a Vamp.”
The Viva Forever! creative team includes choreographer Lynne Page, music supervisor Martin Koch, sound designer Bobby Aitken, lighting designer Howard Harrison and set designer Peter McKintosh.
