Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth has signed on to star in season four of CBS’ hit legal drama The Good Wife, according to TVLine.com. The actress will reportedly play a sharp-witted and nosy reporter who won’t give up until she uncovers all of the details about Alicia (played by Julianna Margulies) and Peter (played by Chris Noth) Florrick’s campaign for governor and their marriage.
The Good Wife premiered on September 22, 2009, and centers around Alicia Florrick, who returns to her job as a litigator to support her children while her husband is in jail for a highly publicized sex scandal. In addition to Margulies and Noth, the series stars Broadway vets Alan Cumming, Mary Beth Peil and Christine Baranski. Margulies earned a 2011 Emmy for her performance on the hit series.
Chenoweth won a Tony Award for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Her additional Broadway credits include Wicked, Promises, Promises, The Apple Tree, Epic Proportions and Steel Pier. Most recently, she starred in the ABC comedy series GCB. Additional film and TV credits include Annie, Bewitched, The West Wing, Stranger Than Fiction, The Pink Panther, Glee, Running With Scissors and an Emmy-winning star turn in Pushing Daisies.
