Nina Arianda, who won a 2012 Tony Award for Venus in Fur, is in discussion for a role in the upcoming film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, according to Showbiz411.com. She will star alongside Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain (who will make her Broadway debut this fall in The Heiress) and screen star James McAvoy.
The first film from director Ned Benson, Eleanor Rigby will consist of two parts titled His and Hers. Each will be told from the perspective of a husband and a wife, respectively.
After wrapping Rigby, Arianda would move on to play Janis Joplin in the previously reported biopic Joplin. In addition to Venus in Fur, Arianda also appeared on Broadway in Born Yesterday. Her film credits include Midnight in Paris, Tower Heist and Higher Ground.
