An Adorable First Look at Broadway’s New Annie and Sandy, Lilla Crawford and Sunny

Sandy’s her name, if you please! Rescued from a shelter in Houston, four-legged star-to-be Sunny will join the cast of the Broadway revival of Annie as the title orphan's lovable and loyal companion, Sandy. Since the show's 1977 Broadway debut, Annie has always featured dogs saved from shelters as Sandy, and in keeping with that tradition, Sunny was discovered and prepped by Tony-winning animal trainer William Berloni. In addition, Pedigree Food for Dogs has teamed up with the upcoming Annie revival to raise $1 million to help other shelter dogs find loving homes. In this first photo of the pair, title star Lilla Crawford gets a big kiss from her co-star Sunny.
