Glee has recruited Dean Geyer and Jacob Artist to join the fourth season of the FOX hit, according to TVLine.com. Geyer will play Lea Michele’s new love interest Brody Weston, an upperclassman at NYADA. Artist will play Jake, Puck's (Mark Salling) younger half-brother, who joins New Directions.
Geyer is a South African singer-songwriter who placed third on the competition series Australian Idol. He has appeared as Mark Reynolds on FOX’s sci-fi series Terra Nova and on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Artist starred in the Lifetime TV movie Blue Lagoon: The Awakening.
In other Glee news, vets Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) and Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel) picked up awards for Best Actress and Best Actor in a Comedy at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards on July 22. Glee also beat out Modern Family, New Girl and more for the honor of Best Comedy. The 13th annual Teen Choice Awards were hosted by Glee’s Kevin McHale and teen star Demi Lovato.
Glee returns to FOX beginning September 13.
