Fans of the reality competition The Glee Project were disappointed and surprised on July 31 when Glee honcho Ryan Murphy sent home Shanna Henderson, the competition’s female frontrunner. Henderson found herself in the bottom three alongside male frontrunner Blake Jenner and talented sex kitten Aylin Bayramoglu, and although it was her first time in the bottom since entering the competition, Henderson was sent home. The big-voiced singer spoke to EW.com about the competition and her aspirations for life after Glee.
“I’m chasing my dreams,” Henderson said “I want a Grammy and I want to pursue country music and I also want to be on Broadway.” It appears the Grammy Award is her first priority, as the young actress/singer is making plans to move to Nashville and record music.
The Glee Project is a reality television show that airs on Oxygen in which 14 aspiring young performers compete for a seven-episode arc on the FOX hit Glee. Last year’s runner up Lindsay Pearce has gone on to perform in the Los Angeles production of Spring Awakening, The Last Five Years and A Snow White Christmas with Neil Patrick Harris.
