Into the Woods’ Opening Night Draws Princes, Witches and Loads of Stars

Wishes, dreams and magic come to life in Central Park as Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods receives an all-star staging, directed by Timothy Sheader. This Tony-winning musical about fairy tale characters stars Oscar nominee Amy Adams, Tony winner Denis O’Hare and Tony winner Donna Murphy, as well as Broadway favorites Chip Zien, Jessie Mueller and Gideon Glick. To welcome the musical back to New York, Sally Field joined Into the Woods alums Laura Benanti and Joanna Gleason for the outdoor opening night celebration on August 9.
