Glee will get a major makeover for its upcoming fourth season as the series will split episodes between the remaining students at McKinley High and the New York adventures of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer). New cast member Dean Geyer, who will play Brody, a classmate of Rachel's, revealed the show will take a more adult turn when it returns September 13.
"New York's cooler, the stakes are a little higher," Geyer told Vulture.com. "It's a completely different world from the original Glee. Rachel has to adapt quickly."
Upon their arrival in New York, Rachel and Kurt will become roommates in a Brooklyn loft. As previously reported, Rachel will be studying at the prestigious (and fictional) New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts under the supervision of Cassandra July (guest star Kate Hudson). Struggling to figure out his next step, Kurt lands an internship at Vogue magazine. His new gig helps Rachel score a sexier wardrobe, leaving behind her signature school girl outfits. Rachel will then perform Britney Spears' "Oops!...I Did It Again," to prove to July she can sex things up on stage, during the series' second tribute episode to Spears.
"It's a little racy," Geyer said of the number, in which he performs some Bob Fosse-esque choreography, complete with table humping moves, alongside Michele. "That's the difference between the old Glee and the new college Glee. It's a little more controversial."
