TV personality and Broadway veteran Rosie O’Donnell wed Michelle Rounds in a private ceremony on June 9, according to People.com. The couple had been planning an August wedding, but moved their nuptials up after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare type of life threatening tumor. The couple married before Rounds underwent surgery on June 14. Two months later, on August 14, O’Donnell suffered a heart attack. The couple is planning a wedding reception after they each recuperate.
"We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us," O’Donnell wrote on her blog. "When we are both well enough [we] will have the wedding of our dreams surrounded by those we cherish."
O'Donnell has appeared on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof, Grease and Seussical and produced the cult musical Taboo. She has also frequently served as the host of Tony Awards in additon to hosting her own talk shows The Rosie O'Donnell Show and The Rosie Show. Her many film and TV credits include Sleepless in Seattle, A League of Their Own, Harriet the Spy, Nip/Tuck, The Flintstones, Riding the Bus with My Sister, Queer as Folk, Will & Grace, Web Therapy and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
This is O’Donnell’s second marriage. In 2004, she married Kelli Carpenter. The two split in 2007.
