Kristin Chenoweth is on the road to recovery after being hospitalized following an accident on the set of The Good Wife in July. Chenoweth, who was struck by a piece of falling lighting equipment, made her first post-accident TV appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael on September 7.
“I’m doing so much better than I was,” Chenoweth told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. “Basically, a big lighting thing…knocked me out, knocked my face and slammed me down to the ground. The back of my head got hit on the curb… I had a skull fracture, rib issue and neck issue and a hip issue. I’m issue-ridden, but I’m getting better.”
The stage star (who last appeared on Broadway in the 2010 revival of Promises, Promises) said she couldn’t immediately form sentences after the accident, and joked she didn’t realize she had lost a shoe and an earring until she arrived at the hospital.
Chenoweth also revealed that her devoted Good Wife co-star Josh Charles was at her side when she woke up in New York’s Bellevue Hospital. “He was holding my hand,” she said. “He’s my angel.”
The actress is still set to appear as a political reporter on the upcoming season of the hit CBS series. She can currently be seen on the big screen in Hit and Run.
