Beginning October 7, The Heiress will bring a taste of 19th-century Manhattan to Broadway, starring Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens. Based on the novel Washington Square, Ruth and Augustus Goetz’s classic drama tells the story of Catherine Sloper (Chastain), a wealthy but plain woman, who finds herself caught between her disapproving father (David Straithairn) and a mysterious, handsome suitor (Stevens). On September 13, Chastain, Straithairn and Stevens joined their company, including Tony winner Judith Ivey (Aunt Penniman) and director Moises Kaufman at the Empire Hotel to meet the press.
