Jackson will sing lounge music from the ‘50s and ‘60s accompanied by members of the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Steven Reineke, during the gala event on December 31.
The performance will be followed by a party in the Grand Foyer of the Kennedy Center, where live music, dancing and a balloon countdown will usher in the new year.
Jackson will lead his sixth Broadway show, the porn comedy The Performers, in November. His past Broadway credits include All Shook Up, Finian's Rainbow, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Xanadu. His non-musical stage credits include the benefit readings of 8 and The Normal Heart, as well as Nicky Silver’s The Agony and the Agony off-Broadway.
