Wicked's Kyle Dean Massey on His Obsessions with the Rockettes, DIY and Hitchcock

Broadway stars know what’s hot in entertainment, fashion and pop culture, so Broadway.com decided it was high time to tap in to the after-hours obsessions of our favorite stage actors. Wicked sweetheart Kyle Dean Massey, who breaks two witches' hearts nightly as Fiyero, shares with us his obsession with The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, home improvement projects and feeling fancy and smelling good. 

TV SHOW: Income Property
“I am obsessed with Income Property on HGTV. It's a Canadian produced show where home owners take their unfinished basements and turn them into rental properties. I have single-handedly gut renovated three apartments in the city. It's my favorite daytime hobby. This may also explain why I'm always showing up at the stage door with dirty fingernails.” 

STAGE SHOW (OTHER THAN MY OWN): Radio City Christmas Spectacular
“I have a lasting obsession with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I could watch the Rockettes kick all day long. My grandmother, who grew up in Manhattan, told us she always wanted to be one but was too short. I see it every single year at least once...sometimes twice. It slaps you into the Christmas spirit and always makes me think of my grandmother.”

“Please tell me y'all have seen her video covering Radiohead's 'Creep.' Obsessed. I think I watched that video 25 times. It is insane. It's so unbelievably good and she gives me chills every time.” 

  VACATION SPOT: Sayulita, Mexico
“Sayulita, Mexico, is a super sleepy surf town on the Pacific Ocean that is incredibly private and strikingly picturesque. I did knock out a front tooth the last time I was there while riding in a wave...so beware. I ended up having to do an entire week of Wicked with no front tooth. Some people at the Gershwin still call me 'Snaggle.'"

APP: Snapseed
“Snapseed is the coolest app I have at the moment. It makes Instagram look archaic...and not in a 'Sutro' kind of way."
