Get ready Smash fans, everything's coming up Bernadette Peters...again!
The Broadway superstar will return to the NBC dramedy as Leigh Conroy, the famous stage mother of Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty). Details of her appearance, including how many episodes she’ll appear, are being kept mum, but it’s probably a safe bet that there’ll be at least one musical performance from Peters to rival last season's stunner, “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.”
One possible scenario for Bernie’s reappearance: a potential sparring match with another mother-daughter duo being introduced next season: Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and Dreamgirls' Sheryl Lee Ralph. We smell a diva throwdown!
Smash will also welcome a slew of theater alums to the upcoming season, including Jeremy Jordan, Sean Hayes, Jesse L. Martin, Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, Nikki Blonsky and Daniel Sunjata.
