Five-time Tony winner Angela Lansbury will be checking into The Grand Budapest Hotel with a quartet of hunks: Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, and of course, Bill Murray. Lansbury told U.K. magazine The Gentlewoman that she will play “a woman of mystery” in Wes Anderson’s newest film.
Although no plot details of the forthcoming film have been released, Anderson's films are known for their lush soundtracks, stylized sets, retro costumes and stories about flawed families. His most recent film, Moonrise Kingdom, was released on May 25, starring Murray as a quirky attorney. Anderson’s other notable films include Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou and The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Lansbury earned Tony Awards for Mame, Dear World, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd and Blithe Spirit, and additional nominations for Deuce and A Little Night Music. Most recently, she was seen on Broadway in The Best Man. Lansbury’s film and TV credits include Murder, She Wrote, Beauty and the Beast, The Manchurian Candidate and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
