Audiences hoping to head to Neverland better act soon as Broadway's Peter and the Starcatcher will end its run on January 20, 2013. A national tour of the Peter Pan prequel is planning to launch in Denver in August 2013.
Co-directed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, the whimsical play stars Adam Chanler-Berat, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Matthew Salidvar. The show opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 15 and went on to earn five Tony Awards, including a trophy for original star Christian Borle.
Adapted by Rick Elice from the Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson novel of the same name, Peter and the Starcatcher features a company of 12 actors portraying some 50 characters, all on a journey to answer the question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Refused To Grow Up? The cast also features Teddy Bergman, Rick Holmes, Arnie Burton, Matt D’Amico, Kevin Del Aguila, Carson Elrod, Greg Hildreth, Isaiah Johnson, and Eric Petersen. The show previously played a sold-out run at off-Broadway's New York Theater Workshop during the spring of 2011.
