Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell is set release his second solo album, aptly titled Simply Broadway. The album, which is available beginning October 30, is a follow-up to his 2006 self-titled debut, and will include classics from shows like Camelot, Porgy and Bess, Company, Sunday in the Park with George, Les Miserables and more.
In support of the album Stokes Mitchell is also embarking on a five-city tour where he will perform at non-profit theatres across the country. Proceeds from the tour will be shared between each theater and The Actors Fund, of which Stokes Mitchell currently serves as Chairman of the Board. The tour will begin at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on October 31.
Stokes Mitchell earned a Tony Award for Kiss Me, Kate and additional nominations for Ragtime, King Hedley II and Man of La Mancha. He last appeared on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and recently guest starred as Lea Michele's father on Glee.
