Broadway alum Curt Hansen (Next to Normal, Hairspray) will play Snow White's Prince in the Pasadena Playhouse’s production of A Snow White Christmas, a musical theater event that updates the classic tale in the style of a traditional British family panto. The show will play a two-week limited engagement at the Playhouse from December 13 through December 23.
The production also features pre-recorded scenes with Neil Patrick Harris as the Magic Mirror, as well as Ariana Grande (Nickelodeon’s Victorious) as Snow White, Charlene Tilton (Dallas) as the Wicked Queen, Jonathan Scott Meza as Muddles and David Figoli as Herman the Huntsman.
Described as an interactive comedy, A Snow White Christmas will feature family-friendly magic, dancing (with So You Think You Can Dance alumni), a live miniature pony and contemporary music from Katy Perry’s "Firework" to Huey Lewis and the News’ "Power of Love" to Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" and more. Each performance will also begin with a Winter Wonderland event, featuring holiday music, crafts, activities and games for families.
Lythgoe Family Productions is mounting the musical, and the creative team is a family affair: Bonnie Lythgoe will direct, with a book by Kris Lythgoe, musical direction by Michael Orland (American Idol), choreography by Spencer Liff (So You Think You Can Dance) and scenic and costume design by the Lythgoe Family Productions creative department.
