It's a Family Affair! Laurie Metcalf's Daughter, Zoe Perry, Joins The Other Place as Her Stage Daughter

Laurie Metcalf’s daughter, Zoe Perry, will join the Emmy-winning actress as her stage daughter in Manhattan Theatre Club’s previously reported production of Sharr White’s The Other Place. Home Alone funnyman Daniel Stern will make his Broadway debut in the production as Metcalf's husband, Ian. The cast will also feature John Schiappa, reprising his role from the show's off-Broadway run. 

In the play Metcalf stars as Juliana Smithton, a neurologist whose research leads to a potential breakthrough in Alzheimer treatment drugs. Just as it does, her life takes a disorienting turn. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. One step at a time, a mystery unravels as contradictory evidence, blurred truth and fragmented memories collide in a cottage on the windswept shores of Cape Cod. 

Stern is well known for his roles in such movies as Home Alone, City Slickers and Diner. On TV, he created the role of the narrator of the iconic TV show The Wonder Years. Perry, who is also the daughter of stage and screen vet Jeff Perry (Tribes; Grey's Anatomy) will be making her Broadway debut. Schiappa has appeared on Broadway in Assassins, Take Me Out and Jekyll & Hyde.

The Other Place is directed by Tony winner Joe Mantello and will play the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre beginning on December 11, with opening night set for January 10, 2013.
