Broadway star Sierra Boggess will play Christine Daae in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera for a limited run in January 2013, after playing the role previously in Las Vegas and the London 25th anniversary performance at Royal Albert Hall in October 2011. Boggess also originated the role of Daae in the show's London sequel Love Never Dies, which earned her an Oliver Award nomination.
The anniversary of the show, the longest-running production in Broadway history, will be marked with a special gala performance on January 26, 2013. The exact dates of Boggess' run in the show have not yet been announced. More special casting for the gala performance is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Boggess made her Broadway debut as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, winning the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Breakthrough Performance. She can currently be seen as Fantine in the West End production of Les Miserables.
