Brian Stokes Mitchell's October 31 concert has been rescheduled for November 7 due to aftermath from Hurricane Sandy. Entitled Simply Broadway, the concert will benefit the Actors Fund and Lincoln Center, and will be performed at Alice Tully Hall.
Mitchell recently released his latest solo album, Simply Broadway. The album is a follow-up to his 2006 self-titled debut, and includes classics from shows like Camelot, Porgy and Bess, Company, Sunday in the Park with George, Les Miserables and more. After the November 7 concert, he will embark on a five-city tour in support of the album.
Stokes Mitchell earned a Tony Award for Kiss Me, Kate and additional nominations for Ragtime, King Hedley II and Man of La Mancha. He last appeared on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and recently guest starred as Lea Michele's father on Glee. He currently serves as president of the Actors Fund.
