Tony winner Denzel Washington has his sights set on returning to Broadway, the two-time Oscar winner revelead during a recent interview on Charlie Rose.
"What I want to do is come back to Broadway," Washington said of his next project, "which I plan to do in 2014. [Producer] Scott Rudin and Kenny Leon, who directed me in Fences, we're all trying to figure out which play to do. I won't say which play; they've already got their mind made up, but 2014."
Washington, who stars in the new movie Flight, went on to reveal his fondess for the stage. "I love theater the most. I like acting on stage more than film because there is an energy you get from it."
Washington earned a Tony in 2010 for the revival of Fences and has also appeared on Broadway in Julius Caesar and Checkmates. His off-Broadway credits include The Tragedy of Richard III, A Soldier's Play and Coriolanus.
