Let's Hear It for the Girls! Eve Ensler's Emotional Creature Opens Off-Broadway

Tony winner Eve Ensler, author of the worldwide phenomenon The Vagina Monologues, addresses the issues faced by young women as they move from adolescence to adulthood in her newest work, Emotional Creature. Directed by Jo Bonney and with musical direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder, this moving drama is comprised of original monologues and songs that celebrate and champion young women, performed by a vibrant ensemble cast including Joaquina Kalukango, Ashley Bryant, Molly Carden, Emily Grosland, Sade Namei and Olivia Oguma. The play opened on November 12 at off-Broadway's Pershing Square Signature Center and attracted a cheering crowd including author and activist Gloria Steinem and Tony nominee Diane Paulus.
