The off-Broadway musical revue The Wonderful Wizard of Song: The Music of Harold Arlen will begin previews at St. Luke’s Theatre on December 13. Opening night is set for January 10, 2013.
Starring The Three Crooners (George Gubatti, Marcus Goldhaber and Joe Shepherd, and featuring Antionette Henry), the musical will feature some of Arlen's most beloved songs including "Stormy Weather," "Come Rain or Come Shine," "Paper Moon," and "Let's Fall in Love." The show recounts Arlen's creative process behind creating the famed tunes. The revue is making its New York debut after a national tour and a month-long run at the Debbie Reynolds Theatre in Las Vegas.
Directed by Gene Castle, The Wonderful Wizard of Song will feaure musical direction by Frank Ponzo, arrangements by Steve Rawlins, set and lighting design by Josh Iacovelli, costumes by Amy Pedigo and additional artistic scenic design by Steve Colucci.
