Let It Be, the West End musical featuring more than 20 of The Beatles’ greatest hits has found a new home. The musical will play its final performance at the Prince of Wales Theatre on January 19, 2013, then transfer to the Savoy Theatre beginning February 1. The production will run through October 5.
Let It Be uses video footage to tell the story of the band’s rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool’s Cavern Club, through the height of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces. The production is packed with classic Beatles’ tunes including "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," "A Hard Day’s Night," "Day Tripper," "Strawberry Fields Forever," "When I’m 64," "Hello Goodbye," "Get Back" and early hits like "Twist and Shout" and "She Loves You."
The show is produced in part by Rain Productions, whose Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles ran on Broadway in the fall of 2010.
