Veteran actress and activist Jane Fonda has long been a vocal advocate of women's rights and, particularly, V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls inspired by Eve Ensler's play The Vagina Monologues. The Academy Award winner took a trip to the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre on December 2 to meet the moving ensemble of Ensler's new female empowerment piece, Emotional Creature, which features monologues and stories inspired by girls around the globe. Fonda, who starred in a production of The Vagina Monologues, helped produced the first all-transgender performance of the play and participated in the documentary V-Day: Until the Violence Stops, caught a performance of her friend Ensler's drama, and posed for photos with cast members after the show. Emotional Creature is a celebration of the voice inside every girl and an inspiring call to action for girls everywhere to speak up, follow their dreams, and become the women they were always meant to be.
