The Heiress leading lady Jessica Chastain earned the National Board of Review award for Best Actress for her thrilling performance in Zero Dark Thirty, according to Variety. The highly anticipated film about the hunt for Osama bin Laden also took home the award for top film of the year. Zero Dark Thirty hits theaters on December 19.
In addition to Zero Dark Thirty, the National Board of Review recognized the cast of the film adaptation of Les Miserables for Best Ensemble. Lincoln, (starring Daniel Day Lewis and Broadway vets Sally Field, David Strathairn and Adam Driver) and Silver Linings Playbook (starring Broadway alum Bradley Cooper) were also included on the Board's list of top films. Zero Dark Thirty's Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for Best Director.
Chastain is currently making her Broadway debut in The Heiress. She earned an Oscar nomination for The Help. Her additional film credits include The Tree of Life, Take Shelter, Lawless, The Debt, Wilde Salome and Jolene.
