Lea Michele is not a diva, and she’s sick of people saying she is. The Broadway vet and Glee star addresses her prickly reputation in the January 2013 cover story of Marie Claire magazine.
“I am a very outspoken person, and if something makes me uncomfortable, you will know that it makes me uncomfortable, but that’s as far as it goes,” she told interviewer Laurie Sandell. Those rumors that Kate Hudson couldn’t stand working with her? False, says Michele, who contends that Hudson called her up to say that tabloid rumors of on-set fueding “f**king sucks,” adding that Hudson told Michele she found her “amazing.”
The Huffington Post reports that Michele riffs on her breasts in the cover story, which hits newsstands on December 18, although the Marie Claire website doesn’t include that juicy exchange. “These babies are great,” Michele reportedly declared, pointing to her chest. “They are my prizewinners. For a while they were out and about, showing off on Broadway every night [in Spring Awakening], then they came to L.A. and were like, ‘No one else looks like me here!’ They were nervous to make their appearance but feel they’ve earned their place. So they asked if they could come out, and I was like, ‘All right, you guys.’ They definitely rose to the occasion, so I’m going to continue to give them more opportunities.” We're assuming this was all said with tongue in cheek!
After Glee, Michele would like to follow in the steps of Anne Hathway and Amy Adams, mixing dramatic film roles with musicals. "Film is an itch I have yet to scratch," she said.
