It’s all in the family on season two of TV’s Bunheads, when Tony winner Sutton Foster will welcome her Tony-nominated brother Hunter Foster to the cast of the hit ABC series, according to ET.com. Hunter will star as wanderer Scotty Simms, who shares a close bond with his sister Michelle (Sutton). Bunheads second season premieres January 7, 2013. Hunter will make his first appearance in Paradise, California on the January 28 episode.
Bunheads tells the story of Michelle, a former Vegas showgirl who, after her husband’s death, decides to stay in Paradise, California to teach at her mother-in-law’s (Tony winner Kelly Bishop) dance studio. In addition to Foster and Bishop, Bunheads stars Kaitlyn Jenkins as Boo, Julia Goldani Telles as Sasha, Emma Dumont as Melanie and Bailey Buntain as Ginny.
Hunter earned a Tony nomination for Little Shop of Horrors. His additional Broadway credits include Million Dollar Quartet, Urinetown, The Producers, Footloose, King David, Grease and Les Miserables. He is gearing up to star in the new musical Hands on a Hard Body, opening March 21 at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Hunter and Sutton appeared together in the national tour of Grease in 1996.
