Musical theater fans got a treat on January 7 when two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz joined David Yazbek for the composer’s monthly concert at 92YTribeca. Norbert sang three songs with Yazbek and his Ladyparts band, including the showstopping “Dirty Rotten Number” from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. (Yazbek performed the role of con artist Lawrence Jamieson, created on Broadway by John Lithgow, opposite Butz in his Tony-winning role as Freddy Benson.) Broadway.com headed downtown for this special evening and captured a Hot Shot of the talented twosome after the show. Next up for Butz: the pre-Broadway engagement of the new musical Big Fish, which begins previews at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre on April 2.
