The Las Vegas production of Million Dollar Quartet has found its set of rockers. The musical will feature Martin Kaye as Jerry Lee Lewis, Benjamin D. Hale as Johnny Cash, Tyler Hunter as Elvis Presley and Robert Britton Lyons as Carl Perkins. Million Dollar Quartet will begin performances on February 4 at Harrah’s Las Vegas.
The cast also features Marc Donovan as Sam Phillips, Felice Garcia as Dyanne, and musicians Jim Belk and Mikey Hachey. The musical's ensemble includes Jacob Tolliver, Luke Darnell, Larry Cole, Tony Sandrew, Stephanie Mason, Mark Ferratt and Josh Jones.
Million Dollar Quartet is a jukebox musical inspired by the legendary recording session featuring Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. The four music icons gathered at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 4, 1956, resulting in one of music history’s most unforgettable jam sessions. The show features more than 20 famous rock hits, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” "Walk the Line," “Great Balls of Fire,” “Hound Dog,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “That’s All Right” and more.
The Broadway production of Million Dollar Quartet, featuring a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux and direction by Eric Schaeffer, closed on June 12, 2011 after 489 performances. The show was nominated for three Tony Awards (including Best Musical), winning one for Levi Kreis’ performance as Jerry Lee Lewis.
